The three XyclooLabs full validators, xyl1 (alias for XYLOO 1), xyl2 (alias for XYLOO 2), and xyl3 (alias for XYLOO 3), are now deployed and validated the latest ~17280 consensus rounds (they've been operational since yesterday).

What does this mean?

Increasing the number of validators is essential for any network, especially on the Stellar Network where validators aren't incentivized by the Network itself (through rewards for example) to run the validators.

In Stellar individuals and organizations running validators or archivers (or both) do it purely for the sake of network decentralization, counting on the fact that increasing security is essential to continue their operations on the network and onboarding more organizations and individuals.

While this design is theoretically perfect as it ties network security directly with its utility, in reality it also leads to much fewer validators (due to the absence of rewards). More specifically, the validators that are really maintaining the network are in the quorum of tier 1 organizations (Lobstr, SDF, FT, etc). Tier 1 organizations have strict organization requirements in order to participate in said quorum, including at least three full validators i.e the validator along with a history archive. Such requirements make it expensive to actually run the network, and the lack of a stronger consensus is also holding back some developers and organizations from building on Stellar (even though the current consensus is quite strong already).

At xyclooLabs, we're committed to Stellar and we are now basing all our operations on Stellar and the success of our products depends on the success of the Network, which is partly dependant also on increasing trusted organizations. As such, we've started running three full validators and are hoping to be in the tier 1 quorum relatively soon (even 4-6 months).

Thanks to the validators awards program we've been able to launch our set of validators, but it will soon be solely the success of our products that we'll be able to sustainably continue running our validators.
